The Eastbourne Silver Band, in conjunction with the Eastbourne Ex-Services Association, will be presenting its 5th Annual Concert of Remembrance on Sunday 6th November from 2:30pm - 4:30pm. This is a free event and tickets are not required.
The concert, which is a non-denominational event, will be held in Our Lady of Ransom Church in Grange Road (Opposite Eastbourne Town Hall) and has been organised to give an opportunity to the many people of the area who, for various reasons, are not able to attend the period of Remembrance at the War Memorial.
The concert this year reflects upon some of the other countries that supported Great Britain during the 2nd World War and will pay tribute to Poland, the American Eagle Squadrons and the French.
This year the band will be supported by a Polish Choir.
The High Sheriff of East Sussex, the Mayor, Local MP and local Councillors will be present, along with representatives of our Civilian Emergency Service.
The afternoon will, in general, be one of entertainment with a short period of Remembrance and reflection to close the concert.
Following this, light refreshments will be available in the church hall at no cost.
This concert has become increasingly popular over the years and, as tickets are not required, early arrival is advised to ensure a seat.
