Cycle hill climb time trial on one of the steepest hills in the area.
The Velopace Butts Lane Hill Climb is an exciting new hill climb event in Willingdon near Eastbourne.
For those new to the sport, a hill climb involves riding a bicycle up a steep hill against the clock. Riders leave the start line at one minute intervals and ride up the hill as fast as possible. It's that simple! Or is it? Pacing, equipment, power, weight and stamina all come into play to provide a spectacle like no other cycle race.
Butts Lane is a challenging, medium distance climb and has been crying out for hill climbers to take a timed run at it for years.
Limited to only 120 entries under CTT regulations, enter early as this event will be popular!
This event is ideal for spectators. Hill climbs attract cheering crowds who line the hill and encourage the brave riders to the top. The event is free to watch. With The Wheatsheaf Inn as HQ there is food and drink available for the duration of the event and no doubt many riders and spectators will make a night of it.
