Details

The Eastbourne Open Bowls Tournament opens its 88th tournament in 2017 which was founded in 1924 with a break during WWII. Beginning as an invitation to players out of the area to play competitively against the local players, this objective remains today.
The first bowls are delivered by the Mayor of Eastbourne to open the tournament consisting of six competitions; Ladies singles and pairs, Men’s singles, pairs and triples, and mixed triples. Played on bowling greens around the town, with the headquarters at Gildredge Park BC, the tournament commences on Sunday 9th July and finals on 14th July with prize giving.
The event has been sponsored by Neil and Wendy Kirby (Langham Hotel) and continues to attract over 50% of entrants from out of the area.
On 13th July, a free to enter social event with live music for all players, friends and supporters to come along.
