Details

A lodging house since Regency times, the Royal was completely revamped in the late 1920's and again most recently in 2009. This charming character property - one of the town's original old 'Sea Houses' has offered rest, relaxation and spectacular sea views to Eastboune's visitors for over 170 years.

Today's guests enjoy modern amenities such as WiFi, power showers and constant hot water but we hope our old-fashioned hospitality will also sustain you and enhance your stay. All our bedrooms have private facilities, comfortable beds with crisp, professionally laundered linen and fluffy towels, flat screen multi-channel TVs, radio-alarms, complimentary tea and coffee trays, hairdryers and quality toiletries.

We're centrally located, overlooking the beach and less than a minute from the Pier. Our prime position ensures spectacular uninterrupted sea views, with glorious sunsets and sunrises. We are also within easy walking distance of the town centre shops, restaurants, theatres, bandstand and a host of other attractions.

We are eco-friendly, with an active green policy in place and strive to use organic, fair-trade, sustainable and locally sourced produce whenever possible. Our sustantial continental breakfasts are delicious and consist of: real ground coffee or a selection of herbal, fruit and breakfast teas, freshly squeezed juices, fruit yoghurts, cereals, assorted seeded breads & rolls, toast and preserves, fruits in season...we believe you'll be impressed.

Non-smoking throughout. Pets very welcome. Check in: 2.00-8.00pm (later by arrangement). Check out: 11.00am. Two nights' minimum booking at weekends, bank holidays and some special events. Please check at time of booking. Free high speed WiFi internet access is available in every room and parking vouchers are available for guests at a nominal charge.
PLEASE NOTE: rooms are arranged over three floors and we do not have a lift.

    Located on the central seafront, close to the Pier. Approach Eastbourne via A27, A22 or A259 and follow signs to the seafront. If approaching from the West, we are just beyond the Pier, on Marine Parade about 6 doors along from the Queens Hotel. If you are approaching from the East, we are two groynes before the Pier. Look out for the only brick-faced building on the seafront. We have black windows and the building is quite distinctive and easily recognisable.

    Parking: On-street pay and display parking is available on the seafront and side streets around the hotel. The Royal can provide you with special parking vouchers for a nominal fee.

    Rail: Eastbourne railway station is about 10 minutes walk away. From the station, walk straight down Terminus Road to the seafront and turn left. Walk past the Pier/Queen's Hotel and we are about 6 doors along on Marine Parade.

    Bus: Most buses stop at the railway station and many also stop at the Pier - just a few seconds away.
