Simon Joslin

Simon Joslin

It’s a welcome return for Simon Joslin, a man who strums and owns some very special guitars, together with a powerful voice ideally suited to the country tradition. He’ll be providing the entertainment at the Under Ground with a friend or two from 10am until noon, and it will cost you nothing to come in and listen.
So: prepare to sit back and enjoy the likes of “He’ll Have To Go”, a massive hit for Jim Reeves in 1960 (“Put your sweet lips a little closer to the phone…”). It was Leroy Van Dyke’s turn for a mega-hit in 1961, when “Walk On By” topped the American Country Charts for a then-record nineteen weeks. The following year, Marty Robbins released “Devil Woman”, to add to his string of hits that had also included “El Paso”.
