Beachy Head Marathon Saturday 26 October 2013 - Starts 9am

The Eastbourne Beachy Head Marathon is one the biggest off-road marathons in the UK. Formerly known as the Seven Sisters Marathon, it is popular for its scenic and challenging route through the South Downs National Park countryside. Great for runners, joggers or walkers looking to get fit.

Congratulations to Rob Harley who made it first across the finish line in 3hrs 9mins, and the first lady home was Susie Casebourne in 3hrs 31mins in 2012.

Here in the UK we think of TB as a disease of the past but the reality is TB is still one of the world's biggest killer diseases, despite being completely preventable and curable. 2 million people will needlessly die of TB this year alone. TargetTB is based in Brighton but works with local partners in countries across Africa and Asia to reach some of the most isolated and poor people in the world and help them to survive TB.

A carer is someone who accepts the responsibility of providing long term care and support for a family member, friend or neighbour who is frail, disabled, and /or has a long term illness. Run the Beachy Head Marathon for Care for the Carers and help fund the vital work we do to support over 5,000 carers throughout East Sussex at very difficult and challenging times in their lives. We provide counselling, information, advice, a befriending scheme, a networking programme and a young carers service.
