Beachy Head Marathon s one of the biggest in the UK, the Beachy Head Marathon held in Eastbourne, formerly known as the Seven Sisters Marathon, is popular for its scenic and challenging route through the South Downs countryside. Great for runners, joggers or walkers looking to get fit.
Congratulations to 2007 winner Tim Short who crossed the finish in a record 2:47, and also to first lady Annabelle Stearns in a formidable 3:29!

Entries for next year’s marathon will open in April. 1,750 spaces fill up quickly with runners, joggers and walkers around the world taking part. Start and finish line at St Bedes School, King Edwards Parade, Eastbourne. Event closes 6pm.

Junior Beachy Head Challenge
New for 2007 saw a 2km and 3km cross country challenge for young runners. With separate age groups for 12-16 and 8-11 year olds, 85 juniors joined in the Beachy Head fun.
Route
Tour the South Downs and cheer on runners with best views from Checkpoint 2 (Bo-Peep), Checkpoint 4 (Birling Gap) and along Beachy Head Road.
