Beachy Head Marathon 2008
Find out what the 2008 competitors thought of the Beachy Head Marathon...

"I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed the run but more importantly how well organised it was. There were plenty of very cheerful marshals even on the windswept parts of the course and the course was well marked. The refreshments on route were an added bonus so I can't wait til the next one."
Geoff Hastings ran in 5 hours 29 minutes
"Superb event, really well organised. Pleased that the Piper is still present - so nice to hear him when you enter Friston Forest on the way back."
Cedric Clemerson finished in 3 hours 34 minutes
"Just a quick note of thanks to all concerned for yet another successful and enjoyable Beachy Head Marathon. Please pass on our Thanks to everyone. Good of you to arrange nice weather. Looking forward to next year's already."
Andy Tucker from Blackheath and Bromley Harriers
"I took part in the marathon last Saturday. It was by far the best organised event that I have participated in. Everybody was so kind and facilitating. It really was a great achievement. Despite the gruelling course I want to have another go next year, simply because of the atmosphere."
Mark Jordan ran in 4 hours 26 minutes
"Many thanks to all involved for making it another memorable occasion. The organisation, the support and everything was great and I think the organisers deserve as big a mention as those who actually took part. Already looking forward to next year."
Dave Hazell
"I had a really good day. The weather was perfect and apart from the last four miles had a great time. The final stretch was hard work but it was fantastic to see the finish at the bottom of the hill. My first ever marathon, so was really pleased with a time of 4 hours 34 minutes."
Brandon Webb completed his first ever marathon here
"Thanks again to all the organisers, marshals, police, Piper etc for another wonderful event on Saturday. Despite the pain of the last few miles I've no doubt I'll be back next year."
Simon Thomas from Lewes AC
"Please thank the team for another great event. The weather was fantastic which always helps, but once again the organisation was great. Really well marshalled and great aid stations."
Stephen Saunders finished in 5 hours 2 minutes
