Please note details of the road closure this weekend:
The road closure will be in operation from noon on Thursday 11 September until noon Monday 15 September - Beachy Head road (between the Beachy Head pub and Shooters Bottom - pub not affected).
Diversion signs are in place. Brighton & Hove buses will continue to serve East Dean and City Sightseeing buses will continue to run to Beachy Head from the Seafront.
This weekend from 12-14 September 2008, gravity racers will compete in the following disciplines...

Classic Luge: operated in a laid back position on a deck about four feet long, riders wear motorcycle helmets and full leather suits as they reach high speeds.
Street Luge: similar to Olympic ice-luge racing, without the ice! Street luge riders hit speeds in excess of 80mph using only their feet for brakes. Unlike their ice-luge cousins, street luge is head-to-head with up to six riders fighting for track position at any one time.

Downhill Skateboards: the most spectacular of all downhill racing disciplines - this is the purest form of downhill racing. Riders compete on long boards and race head to head at breakneck speeds.
Downhill In-line: this is a form of speed skating, where racers compete for the fastest time.
