Barratt Southern Counties Pledge £8k to Airbourne 2009

Barratt Southern Counties has stepped forward as the biggest supporter of Airbourne 2009 by sponsoring a very generous £8,000 towards this year's Eastbourne Airshow, the largest donation so far.

The housebuilder, which has just completed its brand new H20 Development in Susan's Road, is named as the largest sponsor of this year's event and is looking forward to working with airshow organisers over the coming weeks. Known as the World's biggest FREE seafront airshow, Barratt is pleased to be working in association with the south coast event and promoting its product to the thousands of Airbourne visitors.

Eastbourne Borough Council Cabinet Member for Tourism, Cllr Susan Morris said "We are very pleased to have Barratt Homes on board as a sponsor in 2009 and are looking forward to building a strong relationship with the company. Their H20 development is situated just a few minutes' walk from the airshow site, so this year's show presents a fantastic opportunity for Barratt Homes to benefit from the significant footfall at Airbourne and promote their new apartments."

During Airbourne, Barratt Southern Counties will be holding an Open Day at its H20 development on Saturday 15th August 2009, where visitors will be able to enjoy champagne and strawberries and view the contemporary new apartments, as well as have the opportunity to meet some of the pilots who will be thrilling the crowds with their flying exploits.

This year's airshow includes the Red Arrows on all four days, plus displays from the Blades Aerobatic Formation Team, Tigers Parachute Team, Guinot Wingwalkers and more.

Airbourne organisers, Eastbourne Borough Council, hopes that the support shown by Barratt Southern Counties will encourage further local businesses to come forward and take up sponsorship packages for Airbourne 2009.

With a new range of smaller sponsorship packages launched last month and starting at just £250, the airshow presents the opportunity for any company, big or small, to get involved with the international event and promote their brand to the thousands of visitors this August.

The Eastbourne Hospitality Association (EHA) stepped forward earlier this month and offered to carry out bucket collections to raise funds at this year's airshow, which returns from 13-16 August, in a bid to help the event become self-financing and secure its future.
