Cheers to Beer Fest Bands and a Pint of Hop Head
30 September 2009
Visitors to Eastbourne's seventh annual Beer Festival can look forward to a packed programme of live entertainment as organisers reveal the band line-up for the October event with a special treat for anyone who books their ticket online before this Friday.
Joining the extensive ale and beer menu for the popular event that returns to the Winter Garden from 8-10 October, are nine exciting musical acts set to entertain visitors over the three days. From the return of the Oompah Brass on Saturday evening, to local band No Exit fresh from a spectacular performance at the Hastings event earlier this month, festival fans are guaranteed to be on their feet.
Eastbourne Borough Council Cabinet Member for Tourism, Cllr Susan Morris said "The entertainment at the Beer Festival is always very exciting and this year is no exception. With buy one get one free on tickets for Thursday evening, visitors have the chance to enjoy a great evening out with top live music as well as get first dibs on the full casks of ale! And if the bursting drinks menu and bands aren't enough, festival goers can expect a fabulous selection of good old pub grub plus the chance to triumph in the huge pub quiz!"
Joining No Exit on the main stage line up for the festival is Big Al's boogie woogie, Joel White, Red Jackson bringing mellow Chicago Blues, Band of Two, Beve and the Beetroots and Oompah Brass, while Marcella and Lackadaisy are set to entertain crowds in the Devonshire Halls.
Tony Barraclough, lead guitarist with No Exit says "No Exit are really looking forward to playing on the opening night at the Eastbourne Beer Festival to help create a feel good party atmosphere where people can have fun and enjoy themselves."
Dark Star Brewery is also gearing up for a spectacular year in 2009 and adding to the festivities on offer, teaming up with festival organisers Eastbourne Borough Council and CAMRA to offer early online bookers the chance to take part in an exclusive prize draw.
Anyone who books a Beer Festival ticket through VisitEastbourne.com E-shop before Friday 2 October will be in with a chance of winning a pint of the brewery's famous Hop Head at the event. Dark Star will pull a winner every hour on the hour during each festival session to taste a pint of their finest ale.
With Friday night sold out already, festival fans are being encouraged to book quickly for the popular event. Tickets are available online from VisitEastbourne.com, from the Tourist Information Centre or from the Box Office on 01323 412000.
