Why Go Abroad when you can VisitEastbourne.com?
18 June 2009
‘Forget about the Euro; go Eastbourne' is the slogan being used as Eastbourne launches its 2009 awareness campaign across a range of travel websites and London newspapers.
This year Eastbourne Tourism is using the economic downturn and rise of the staycation to attract new visitors to Eastbourne.
A series of rolling adverts use appealing shots featuring Sovereign Harbour Marina and alfresco dining at one of the new seafront shelter restaurants to entice visitors to Eastbourne, alluding to the value that the pound offers over the Euro.
Eastbourne Borough Council Cabinet Member for Tourism, Cllr Susan Morris said "We are very excited to launch our brand new awareness campaign and with holidays in Britain becoming more popular this year as the Euro puts people off travelling abroad, Eastbourne is in a great position to attract new visitors. Moving away from our traditional London Underground poster campaign, we are keen to see the results of our 2009 ads that will be seen on a wider variety of media."
As well as featuring attractive shots of the UK's sunniest resort, Eastbourne's 2009 campaign links through to the town's official tourism website VisitEastbourne.com, with the strapline ‘Why go abroad when you can VisitEastbourne.com?'
Referring to ‘Amazing Summer Offers', those that view the ads online will be able to click straight through to VisitEastbourne.com to find a range of special offers at hotels and guesthouses in the town.
From 3 nights for the price of 2 to longer stays such as 7 nights for the price of 6, plus a range of brand new cookery holiday offers, those interested in visiting Eastbourne will be able to find value for money as well as a beautiful, vibrant and contemporary destination.
Working with local hotels, guesthouses and attractions to offer holiday savings and discount vouchers to encourage visitors to make the most of their money in the year of the staycation, VisitEastbourne.com is packed full of credit-crunch busting offers.
The adverts will run online for four weeks across a range of websites including Trip Advisor, Times Online, Weather.com and Expedia. With a series of print adverts being run alongside the online campaign in The Evening Standard, Metro, and London Life newspapers, Eastbourne will be marketed to a potential audience of more than 3.6 million people.
