Eastbourne Bags BRADA Best Brochure Design 2009

12 June 2009

Eastbourne's 2009 Holiday Guide has been judged best in the country this week by the British Resorts and Destinations Association (BRADA).

At the annual BRADA Conference held in Torquay on Monday, the south coast resort was presented with the trophy for the Best Holiday Guide Cover 2009, beating off stiff competition from rival resorts including Bournemouth, Blackpool, Brighton and the English Riviera. The Guide was praised for being innovative and attracting a new ‘AB' market while still managing to appeal to the town's core audience.

Eastbourne Borough Council Cabinet Member for Tourism, Cllr Susan Morris said "Eastbourne is delighted to have been presented with this prestigious award and to have our cover judged top in the country is testament to the hard work that goes into our many marketing initiatives throughout the year. We are always trying to push boundaries and challenge perceptions of the town, while realising that it is vital to continue to appeal to our core market at the same time. With greater interest in UK holidays this year, the award comes at a fantastic time for the resort when Eastbourne is set to see more visitors than ever before."

This year's Holiday Guide used a contemporary design to promote Eastbourne to visitors around the world, with some of the resort's most iconic aspects featured on the front cover.

Eastbourne's Sovereign Harbour Marina is featured alongside Beachy Head, the Bandstand, local cuisine, and the brand new AEGON International Tennis Championships.

Featuring a brand new spread in 2009, titled ‘Eastbourne in the Movies', the Guide showcased the resort's famous film locations for the first time ready to entice new visitors to the town by offering a fresh look at Eastbourne.

With the launch of the new 2009 awareness campaign imminent, Eastbourne is again preparing to challenge perceptions of the town and turning its attention to attracting new visitors to the resort in the rise of the staycation and economic downturn.
