Eastbourne in the Movies in New Holiday Guide
10 December 2008
The brand new 2009 Eastbourne Holiday Guide will be hitting Tourist Information Centres across the country over the next two weeks showcasing the resort's famous film locations for the first time.
This year the town's Holiday Guide contains a brand new spread, ‘Eastbourne in the Movies' to maximise on the resort's growing success as a film destination. Highlighting major movies including Robin Hood, James Bond, Harry Potter and 2008's Angus, Thongs & Perfect Snogging, as well as household names such as Little Britain, England's World Cup Rugby Squad and Eastenders, the double page feature offers a fresh look at Eastbourne ready to entice new visitors to the resort.
Eastbourne Borough Council Spokesperson for Tourism, Cllr Steve Wallis said "I love the 2009 brochure and feel it's our best yet. The design is very modern and clean and unlike anything we have ever done before. The new film pages are fantastic and definitely show Eastbourne as a place that big names are falling in love with too. I'm sure we'll see even more visitors in 2009 all eager to make the most of our record sunshine, first class beaches, modern harbour and vibrant nightlife."
This year's Holiday Guide has used a contemporary design to promote Eastbourne to visitors around the world, with some of the resort's most iconic aspects featured on the front cover. For the first time Eastbourne's Sovereign Harbour Marina is featured alongside Beachy Head, the Bandstand, local cuisine, and the LTA tennis tournament.
With Eastbourne getting ready to stage the brand new combined men and women's AEGON International Tennis Tournament in 2009, the town is preparing to see thousands more tennis fans next year. With over 300 events scheduled to take place in 2009, from classic cars to arts festivals, and French Markets to top sporting events, there is something for everyone.
The accommodation section has also been revamped completely this year to modernise and make the pages more user-friendly. Sections are separated into the different types of accommodation on offer and the map is colour coded for the first time for easy reference.
Copies of the Guide are currently being distributed to all Tourist Information Centres across the country including VisitBritain's flagship Visitor Information Centre on Regent Street, London.
The national direct response advertising campaign to promote the Guide also commences this month starting with the Radio Times New Year Edition. It will continue in a selection of publications during January and February including a brand new e-brochure initiative where for the first time, visitors can flick through the Guide pages online, zoom in at various details or even print pages!
Eastbourne Tourist information Centre is already handling enquiries for the new guide and brochure requests via the Visit Eastbourne website are up on last year.
