MAD Stunt Team Go Extreme on the Beach

MAD Team will be attending Eastbourne Extreme

Eastbourne Extreme will this year welcome Europe's number one Mountain Bike stunt team to the free show, which returns from 14 - 15 July.

Team MAD, consisting of 11 stunt riders, will perform mind blowing jumps, hops and balancing skills on specially adapted mountain bikes, and have performed for many big names all over the world, from Pepsi-Cola in Saudi Arabia to Formula One driver Jacques Villeneuve at his birthday party.

Eastbourne Borough Council Cabinet Member for Tourism, Economy & Environment, Councillor Steve Wallis said "Not only is Eastbourne Extreme expanding to include more watersports activity than ever before, but this year it is also getting back to its original extreme skating and biking roots with new stunt teams and a brand new performance arena on the beach."

Joining the line up on the new beach arena, MTV star Lee Musselwhite makes a welcome return after his popular BMX performance last year.  Likened to Ballet on a Bike, he performs a dazzling choreographed show of intricate spins, twists and jumps.

Eastbourne Skating Association also return with competitions from limbo to the high jump - all on skates.  New for this year, is a European standard competition where top skaters will compete in the Battle Extreme Slalom Competition.

On the water, the formula one style Thundercat power boat racing comes to Eastbourne for the first time bringing their national championships to the Sussex Coast.  Top windsurfers also compete for points and prizes in the UK Windsurfing Association's national Freewave competition, and for the first time the UKWA hold the new South East Cup 5 slalom competition.

Jetski demos join the watersports line up, along with Eastbourne Rowing Club Regatta, diving sessions from Planet Divers or have a go at sailing or windsurfing with Spray Watersports.

In the air, enjoy colourful kite flying demos from Brighton and Kent Kite Flying Clubs, and SEKA and Kent Land Yachting clubs hits top speeds in their wind powered buggies.

Great for families, the event includes children's rides and stalls for shopping, a climbing wall, funfair and beach bar, plus EBM Live bring 10 live bands to the ever popular Eastbourne Extreme Band Stage, all adding the festival atmosphere.
