Eastbourne seafront is in for a bumper line up of raw musical talent on the band stage at this year's Eastbourne Extreme.

Event organisers, Eastbourne Borough Council, have teamed up with music store, Bonners, to put together a thrilling programme of local bands to accompany the adrenaline-fuelled weekend of extreme sporting activity. Filling the stage with five sets on both days, 10 different bands will get the crowds going with a buzzing festival atmosphere up on the Ready Steady Glow Extreme stage.

Eastbourne Borough Council Spokesperson for Tourism, Cllr Steve Wallis said "This year's Extreme is shaping up to be the best yet and the live music line up will certainly set the event's status as one of the coolest festivals on the south coast. With an Animal Relentless Bike Tour, Thundercat power boat Formula One style races, and free running across obstacles on the seafront, Extreme promises an action-packed weekend for everyone."

Bonners music store are providing a backline for the stage meaning quick change between sets and non-stop music from 12-5pm on both days. Extreme fans can look forward to a line up that includes To the Moon Alice, from Hastings, Essex group Blah Blah Blah and local band, Your Friends are Architects.

The Extreme action will come from Thundercat Power Boats revving up their engines in Eastbourne seas, the UK Windsurfing Association stage one leg of a national competition and jet skis cause ripples off the shore.

This year will also see a first at Extreme with Fort Fun theme park adding some new Extreme-inspired attractions making the event an action-packed day out for all the family.

Scott Manning, of Fort Fun, said: "I am extremely pleased to be working alongside Eastbourne Borough Council and supporting one of the town's premier events in 2008. The new rides at Fort Fun will get everyone into the Extreme festival spirit."

Taking place on the eastern end of Eastbourne seafront, visitors can look forward to a cool, relaxed vibe, with plenty of daredevil stunts as well as fairground rides, shopping stalls and refreshment stops when Eastbourne Extreme returns from 19-20 July 2008.
