Eastbourne Adds High Speed Thrills to Summer Evenings

Eastbourne promises high speed thrills in addition to vintage motoring fun this summer with its busiest ever programme of motoring events.
From the gleaming classic cars of Magnificent Motors - the south coast's biggest free motoring festival, to the thrill of high speed racing at Eastbourne Speedway, there is plenty to suit all tastes.
Celebrating 50 years of the mini, Magnificent Motors kicks off the season from 2 - 3 May, as Eastbourne's immaculate seafront lawns host over 500 classic and vintage cars, plus there's live music, a seafront cavalcade, fairground and a French Market too.
Offering high speed thrills on summer evenings, Eastbourne Speedway promises fast paced motor sports action through till October. Eastbourne's team, the Eastbourne Eagles, compete at their home stadium against the cream of British Speedway in televised competition.
Eastbourne Borough Council Cabinet Spokesperson for Tourism, Cllr Steve Wallis said "Eastbourne offers such great choice for motoring fans. Where else can you go from an afternoon of genteel classic cars to an evening of formula one style motorbikes, all on a Bank Holiday weekend".
The summer continues with vintage motorbikes, a bus rally, motor show and even more classic cars. The season ends with the MG South Downs Run, welcoming MG owners from all over the UK in a nostalgic and picturesque run across the South Downs from Winchester, all ending on the prestigious seafront Western Lawns in Eastbourne.
Nearby attractions also offer motoring nostalgia, such as Bentley Motor Museum and popular filming location, the Bluebell Railway. Steam buffs can even take to the footplate themselves at the nearby Lavender Line. Alternatively families can take a ride on Eastbourne's very own seafront Dotto Train, or hop on Thomas the Tank Engine with the kids at Eastbourne Miniature Steam Railway.
