Red Arrows Announce Triple Bill for Eastbourne’s 25th Anniversary Airshow
29 March 2017
Fans of the Red Arrows are in for a triple bill of flying this August, as the world famous aerobatic team return for three days of displays at Airbourne: Eastbourne International Airshow, which celebrates its 25th year.
Launching a big weekend of flying, the team which this year includes a pilot hailing from Eastbourne, will perform over the sea on Friday, Saturday and Sunday for the hundreds of thousands lining Eastbourne seafront.
The free airshow, which returns from 17 – 20 August will see new Red Arrows recruit Flt Lt Toby Keeley, displaying as Red 2 over his former home town, just two years after flying there solo. The Hawk pilot is this year achieving his childhood dream to perform with the team, many years since watching their displays in Eastbourne as a child.
Completing the RAF line up during the four day show, will also be the sky scraping fast jet Typhoon and the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, which features the Hurricane, Lancaster and Spitfire in a poignant and historic display.
Eastbourne Borough Council Director of Tourism & Enterprise, Phil Evans said “We’re delighted to welcome the RAF back to Airbourne and to see the awesome Reds perform over three days is huge bonus in our 25th year. This will really get the weekend off to a flying start – time for fans to book that long weekend break now!”
The RAF are the first to announce their flying displays with other military aircraft and civilian display announcements to follow over coming months.
Airbourne returns this year from 17 – 20 August with a military exhibition, helicopter pleasure flights, children’s entertainment, concerts, fireworks and much more. Entry is free.
To beat the crowds and for prime views, keen aviators can upgrade to first class hospitality with exclusive dining and drinks in a private marquee and dining area of the Western Lawns.
Alternatively, reserved seats are available in the Exclusive Seating area all day from just £10 per adult (£6 per child).
Opportunities are also available for businesses to support the show and receive exposure to hundreds of thousands attending, with sponsorship and partnership packages available.
