Visit Eastbourne Tops 3.5 Million Hits

Eastbourne's official Tourism website VisitEastbourne.com topped 3.5 million hits in 2008 as it marks itself out as the number one online resource for visitors coming to the resort.

Statistics for Visit Eastbourne continue to rise month on month and the total number of hits received in 2008 was a staggering 83% up on 2007's total. The number of estimated users for the website also showed a considerable two thirds increase on the previous year, with July reporting the most users ever at over 103,000.

Eastbourne Borough Council Spokesperson for Tourism, Cllr Steve Wallis said "These statistics are absolutely fantastic and testament to what a brilliant website Visit Eastbourne is. Attracting such a large number of users every year shows that it is a valuable resource with visitors able to search for accommodation, find out what's on, watch Eastbourne videos and read the latest tourism news all from one platform. With several online developments planned for the coming year, I'm sure the statistics will continue to get better and better."

Visitors interested in coming to Eastbourne can request a copy of the resort's Holiday Guide online from VisitEastbourne as well as sign up to receive monthly e-newsletters.

The new 2009 Guide was released in December and through promotion on the home page highlighting the brand new film location pages, the number of brochures requested last month was up 89% on the same month in 2007.

2008 also saw several new introductions for Visit Eastbourne, including a Weddings page, Downloads section and total revamp of the Airbourne website.

The new Airbourne website went live in July with easier navigation, contemporary design and kids' pages, and statistics already mark a third increase in the number of users in less than six months.

With a brand new Special Offers section also now live on Visit Eastbourne offering 3 for 2 deals at selected hotels and guesthouses in the town and plans to introduce attraction vouchers in 2009, the website will carry enticing offers for potential visitors.
