Press release issued by the Lawn Tennis Association:

Ana Ivanovic and Richard Gasquet have confirmed they will be playing at the AEGON International, taking place at Eastbourne's Devonshire Park from 13th-20th June.

For the first time ever, the AEGON International will be a combined ATP and WTA event offering spectators the opportunity to watch world class men and women compete for the prestigious titles.

Ivanovic, who will be playing in Eastbourne for the first time, became the world's top ranked player last June after winning the French Open title.

Currently ranked No.7 in the world, the 21 year-old from Serbia has notched eight career titles and is a former semi-finalist at The Championships, Wimbledon.

Ivanovic said: "I'm looking forward to playing in Eastbourne. I've been there once before a few years ago but had to pull out because of injury, and I could see that it's a very peaceful, relaxed setting.

"It looks like the perfect place to prepare for Wimbledon, but it's also a chance to win a prestigious title - I know that the tournament has great history. I've always thought that British tennis fans are among the best in the world, and I enjoy playing in front of them."

Gasquet has won five career titles including two victories on grass in Nottingham. The 22 year-old Frenchman, who is currently ranked No.23 in the world, attained a career high ranking of No.7 and reached the semi-final at The Championships, both in 2007.

Gasquet said: "I am delighted to play the AEGON International this year in Eastbourne. Tennis on grass has always been special to me and I am convinced that this is the best tournament to play before The Championships."

Tickets for the AEGON International, taking place at Eastbourne's Devonshire Park from 13th-20th June, are currently on sale and can be purchased by calling 01323 412 000 or by visiting the box office at the Congress Theatre in Eastbourne.
