Eastbourne Walking Tours at Eastbourne Seafront

This gentle walking tour of Eastbourne starts at the Bandstand on the middle prom. The tour is suitable for all ages and last for one and a half hours with 12 stopping points of interest along the 1 mile route.

Join the tour to discover the town’s heritage and unearth interesting facts about key landmarks in the seaside destination. Learn more about the history of seafront hotels, discover what happened to the Pier during World War Two, the location of a disused air raid shelter and find out why crabs walk sideways!

The walks follow a round route, starting and finishing at Eastbourne Bandstand, taking in a trail that includes the Victorian Pier, Dr. John Bodkin Adams’ old house, Devonshire Park Theatre, and the Lifeboat Museum.

The Eastbourne Walking Tours are available five times a week until the end of October and last 90 minutes, taking place at 3pm on Mondays and Wednesdays, at 8pm on Thursday and 11am and 8pm on Sundays, offering visitors the chance to enjoy a gentle stroll after dinner.

Each walk is just over one mile and the main stopping points include; the Bandstand, Burlington Hotel, the Pier, Elms Avenue, Terminus Road, Old house of Dr. John Bodkin Adams, War Memorial roundabout, Devonshire Park Theatre, Winter Garden, Devonshire Mansions, Wish Tower slopes and the Cavendish Hotel.

The tours cost £5 per person and visitors can book in advance from the Tourist Information Centre and Seafront Office or turn up and pay as they go.
