Research

Visitor Research

Our tourism research is key to developing Eastbourne’s vision as a premier seaside destination by 2026, our overall tourism strategy and long term sustainability. It drives the decisions we make about how to develop our work and what activities we undertake to respond to the continuing challenges facing this sector.

In this section you will find our research projects including visitor and non-visitor surveys, events research and economic impact studies.

Our latest visitor survey, conducted by TNS a global leader in market research insight during 2012/13 measured visitation levels including inbound and domestic visitors to the resort, overnight and day visitors plus residents. It also assessed the non-visitor demographics, looked at our key competitors, identified awareness of Eastbourne as holiday destination and identified the perceived barriers to visiting the resort.
