STONE CROSS WINDMILL
Stone Cross Windmill is closed for the Winter season,
enabling the volunteer maintenance team to undertake
essential work. The Trust volunteers hope to complete
work to the Fan stage and Cap during the these
months thanks to a grant from Shepham Community Fund.
If you think you can contribute to the work undertaken by
the volunteer maintenance team, please don't hesitate to
contact the chair - the team usually meet once a week.
The Windmill has been producing fine quality wholemeal
flour using grain from a local farm. The Sunday opening
once per month from 12pm-4pm proved to be popular
and welcomed many local residents and their family.
This will continue throughout 2024.
The Windmill will reopen on Sunday, 7th April, 12pm-4pm
for the sale of homemade bread, jams and cakes as well
as a tombola with lots of prizes. This is the first
fund-raising event of the season and hopefully will
be well attended.
Mills Weekend on Sunday 12 of May open from 12pm-4pm.
Vince, Keith and John are going to set up an Amateur Radio Station to
contact other Mills both in the UK and abroad.
The Long Man Morris Men will be at the Windmill from approximately 2.30pm.
Many thanks to all our visitors and members who continue
to visit the Windmill, providing essential funds to help
maintain the building. Further information and dates
will be here on the website.
