Moira House School

About

International Summer School is a small, family-run operation with almost 20 years experience of residential summer schools and independant boarding schools in East Sussex. The school is accredited by the British Council.

At Moira House School we accept boys and girls aged 8 - 16 years of age. All levels from complete beginners in English through to advanced learners can join the course. Students can improve their English and have a fun and exciting time while doing so. Along with our residential staff, they live within the boarding houses and make meals at the school. Summer school students enjoy exactly the same facilities at the school as year-round boarders and thus they benefit from having all facilities in one place. We also have some places for 'day' children, who come in each morning and return each evening to be with their parents or guardians in Eastbourne.

Eastbourne (Conference and Learning) Centre is a course for independant young adults (aged 16-21 years of age) who are looking for an intensive English course in a centre which has first calss accommodation facilities. All bedrooms are beautifully furnished with lovely en-suite bathrooms. Many rooms have balconies with sea views. This centre is located right on the seafront, between the Grand Hotel and the Pier, and only a few minutes walk to the main town centre. Some places for 'day' students are also available.

The summer school programme is very well balanced with a combination of English lessons, a good choice of sports and activities during afternoons, an evening social entertainment programme and exciting full day excursions to top tourist attractions in London and places along the South Coast of England. Our prices are all-inclusive and students do not need to pay for anything else when they arrive. Everything is included in the weekly fee.

It is usual to have summer studetns from over 25 different countries at International Summer School during the summer. The number of students who speak the same language is restricted so that English is the only common language and everyone is encouraged to speak it at all times. Class sizes are kept small to ensure intensive and personal tuition.

International Summer School has grown increasingly popular and we have many returning students and staff each year. We want our students to return home having improved their English, enriched by their experience and having made friends with others from all over the world. They will also have had lots of fun!

Moira House: Heated indoor swimming pool, indoor sports hall, art room, cookery room, classrooms, assembly hall, computer suite, dinig room, drama studio, sports fields, tennis courts.
