This event will take place at 2pm at the Redoubt Fortress.

Taking the Tower of London Poppy on display in Eastbourne Remembers as inspiration, Heritage Assistant Neil Harvey will look at the sometimes controversial history of the poppy’s use in commemoration and how it has become an enduring symbol of remembrance. This talk will explore the different ways in which we remember those lost in war and ask; ‘how should we mark their sacrifice?’

Tickets cost £6 and include cake and a hot drink.
