East of the Pier by VisitEastbourne

The walk will start on the Pier with walk leader Allison Caffyn from East Sussex Walking Group. This is a circular walk around the outside of Eastbourne, which starts from the pier and loops around the far edges of the town following the South Downs to Willingdon and making its way across to Hankham and around to Pevensey before coming back to the pier.  It is a lovely walk encircling the town.

The first part of the walk on the South Downs involves a steep climb up and back down whilst the rest of the walk is relatively flat.

There are many stiles (approx. 22-25), a couple of busy roads to cross, some walking along quiet roads and potentially cows in fields.

Total ascent is 1457ft

Exact meerting place: Eastbourne Pier

This is a long, challenging walk with an approximate distance of 18 Miles
