Downland

About

The aim of the walk, lead by Derek Read from Eastbourne Downland Group, is to make people aware of opportunities to explore the open downland and lesser-known footpaths.  It follows the South Downs way to Beachy Head, then across open downland and returns on little-used tracks.  Commentary on history of the downland, wildlife, geology, archaeology, etc.  Steep climb at start, then gentler slopes; some stiles and rough ground.
