With the cost-of-living pressures facing everyone this season we've rounded up our top family friendly activities, all of which are either completely free or cost £10 or less, ensuring you can still enjoy a great day out without it breaking the bank!

Eastbourne is lucky to enough to have several beautiful parks and many with adventure playgrounds. So, wrap up warm and enjoy some free outdoor fun at Hampden Park, Gildredge Park, Princes Park, Helen Gardens, Old Town Recreation Ground, Shinewater Park, Roselands, or The Archery.

Beachy Head Story Exhibition

The Beachy Head Story at Beachy Head promises a fascinating day out for all the family. The exhibition space allows visitors to discover the beautiful landscape of Beachy Head and the South Downs. Admission is free but some workshops and events attract a small charge.

Eastbourne is a beautiful place to live in but how much of our town’s history do you know? The Heritage Centre in Carlisle Road offers visitors the opportunity to see fascinating displays of original maps, pictures, artefacts, and films. The centre is open weekends and bank holidays and a family ticket for two adults and up to three children is just £6.

Towner Art Gallery

The Towner Art Gallery is the jewel in the crown of Eastbourne’s Devonshire Quarter and admission is free. The gallery, next to the Congress Theatre, has exhibitions of modern and contemporary art, an acclaimed Collection, a dedicated Eric Ravilious Room, a café, and gift shop. The colourful exterior gallery walls are also adorned with a geometric mural by Lothar Götz and make the perfect photo backdrop. Have some photo fun during your visit and challenge each other to the best selfie!

Uncover a piece of history with fossil hunting! The beaches surrounding the Beachy Head area are a great spot for making discoveries and for the best family friendly fossil hunting we recommend heading to Birling Gap. Low tide is best for fossil hunting, check tide times beforehand and keep your eyes peeled!

Treasure Island Mini GolfYoung adventurers are in for a treat at Treasure Island with it's unique mix of indoor and outdoor attractions, including mini-golf, ensuring a great day out whatever the weather. The seafront venue is open seven days a week and admission prices start at £1.25 for adults and £4.50 for 2 - 12 year olds.

For the under eights, look no further than KiddiCity, an award-winning play café for children, their parents, and carers. The uniquely built miniature city play zones offers little players imaginative, submersive play, complete with matching costumes, vehicles, props, and toys. There are also fun creative classes and events. Admission charges start at £5 for an adult and child.

If the great outdoors is high on your family’s agenda, head to Sharnfold Farm, which is more than just a farm shop with a Farm Trail, play area and lots of fun attractions. Admission to the Stone Cross venue is £4.95 for anyone over the age of three.

Sovereign Centre

Make a splash with a day out at Eastbourne’s Sovereign Centre on the seafront. There’s a gym, fun pool with wave machine and flume, Aqua Challenge inflatable assault course, 25 metre gala swimming pool, sauna, and steam room. The centre is open daily and people living in Eastbourne who have a Residents’ Card qualify for discounted admission prices which start at £4.30 for adults and £3 for children.

PUPStation in Eastbourne town centre offers stimulating soft play and interactive equipment for youngsters up to the age of 12. It is open seven days a week with tickets for adults costing £1 and £7 for children over the age of three.
