During the First World War Talbot House in Poperinge, a few miles short of the front line in Belgium, became a haven for thousands of allied troops, a ‘home from home’where they could enjoy a few rare comforts and spend quality time recalling the men they really were. Aimed at a family audience, this feelgood and moving play gives a brief taste of the history of this legendary house and, with the aid of poetry & music from The Great War, the atmosphere that was felt by the troops that visited it. The play stars Iain Barton, Andrew Meller and Peter Gill. Peter wrote & directs the play and is also highly acclaimed for the must-see ‘Meet Tommy Atkins’, presented last season here at the UGT on a nationwide tour. This is a touring show, presented by the acclaimed Beyond Eternity Productions.
