Furthering his career, he went on to work in a Fleet Street studio as a junior graphic artist.
He later moved to IPC Magazines and then on to work in top London advertising agencies, notably Saatchi & Saatchi, as a senior artist.
Relocating to Sussex in the 1980s William took up drawing and painting again, obtaining a diploma from Brighton University.
Citing Monet and the Impressionists, Salvador Dali, and Pablo Picasso as major influences, William’s work encompasses a range of subjects, more recently executed with a Surrealistic imagery, favouring acrylic and oil paint, pastel, pencil, charcoal and inks as preferred media.
William has successfully exhibited in the UK, Spain, and especially in the USA.
