About

Devonshire Park’s World Renowned Tennis Courts Open to Public for Once in a Lifetime Opportunity

The pristine grass courts of Devonshire Park open today for six weeks only in a once in a lifetime opportunity to play at the home of the Nature Valley International, after the cancellation of all tournaments this year.

Following the impact of Covid-19, the immaculate courts have been opened up for bookings as part of the LTA’s ‘Play Your Way’ scheme, with seven courts available for pre-booked play.

This year would have seen many of the world’s top 20 players competing at the historic venue, with past competitors including Caroline Wozniacki, Novak Djokavic, Andy Murray and Eastbourne’s very own Johanna Konta. With a further five tournaments during the summer ranging from County Cup teams to over 35’s events, the courts have undergone intense maintenance over the winter and are in tip top condition for play.

The courts will be operating with strict guidelines to limit contact including the introduction of a one way system, hand sanitisers and use of own equipment and details of this are available on the booking website.

Four courts are open to the general public from 10am to 5pm each day, with prices ranging from £25 to £30 per hour, and a further three courts are available to members of the Devonshire Park Lawn Tennis Club at discounted prices.

All those booking can also enjoy 10% off at the DQ Terrace Bar & Café and the Stage Door pub, simply by presenting their DQ Play Your Way booking confirmation.
