Details

Cooksbridge is believed to have got its name from the cooks who fled the soldiers of Simon de Montfort from the bridge on their way to the Battle of Lewes in 1264. Cooksbridge has some nice views of the downs as they can be seen from anywhere in the village. There are a few shops here however the main shopping centre is at Lewes.
