Friends of Eastbourne Seafront

About

Friends of Eastbourne Seafront offer residents and businesses the opportunity to join an active group with a passion for the sea front, and all it has to offer, whether it is welcoming visitors, gardening, historic interests in our heritage buildings such as Redoubt, or the Bandstand or helping out at fundraising events.

After forming in April 2022 we have run successful campaigns around the Bandstand, Redoubt and Dotto to raise the profile of the seafront.

We have made sure the general public are aware of what is happening on the on the seafront and where there are issues we have started a dialogue with those in authority in an effort to get things sorted.

We publish an annual pocket size seafront guide which details all there is to enjoy along the 4.1 miles of our glorious promenade. We also run the local Welcome Team who you may have seen in their turquoise and navy livery stationed along the seafront. This well informed, hardworking team of volunteers are there to greet locals and visitors and direct them where they need to go and give out information on venues and events in Eastbourne.

We have a vision of how we would like to see our seafront improved and fundraise and apply for project funding to realise these initiatives. We have currently just received a grant from the John Jackson Charitable Trust that will enable us to turn the tarmac that was the old skate park site by the Sovereign Centre into a bike track and we are working on getting funding for many other exciting ideas.

If you are interested in campaigning to see improvement and change then why not become a member to support our work. Or if you want to get more involved and meet like minded people and volunteer to make a difference please visit our website: www.friendsofeastbourneseafront.org.uk and contact us.
