The festival is back for its 7th year and is a firm favourite on the seafront calendar, offering a great opportunity to taste a fantastic array of award-winning local and county beers, ales and ciders all washed down with an accompaniment of super live musical entertainment.

Eastbourne Borough Council Lead Cabinet Member for Tourism and Enterprise, Cllr Margaret Bannister said “The Beer & Cider Festival is always a great event and a fantastic way to toast the extended Bank Holiday weekend. The festival is a real celebration of the county’s finest local and speciality brewers. With music and entertainment too, it is a day out that the whole family are sure to enjoy.”

There will be over 60 cask ales on offer, specially selected by the local CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale) team. Ale aficionados can take their pick from award winners, local favourites or even those with a suitably unusual name!

If beer isn’t your thing, then a great selection of ciders and perries will also be available, plus a variety of wines and gin too.

For beer festival fans that can’t wait until May, then there is still the opportunity to taste a variety of ales and ciders as part of the Eastbourne Beer Festival On Tour, which runs through until 26 November. A mid-season event will take place on Thursday 18 October at The Stage Door pub in Compton Street. Punters will be able to pick up their copy of the tour festival passport as there’s still time to get collecting stamps from each of the 32 pubs that form part of the tour. The passport also outlines how to get to and from each venue using public transport.

By collecting 20 stamps at pubs along the route beer lovers can then claim their free festival t-shirt. Collecting 5 more stamps and there’s then the chance to win further prizes including a tour of the Harvey’s Brewery.

Beer & Cider by the Sea will be held on Friday 24 May- Sunday 26 May and ticket prices start at £7 (£6 CAMRA members, £2 children, under 5’s go free).

Next year will see the return of the annual October beer festival too at its newly refurbished venue from 10 to 12 October 2019.

Tickets for the Beer & Cider Festival 2019 are on sale now and can be purchased online at www.EastbourneBeerFestival.co.uk or by calling 01323 410611 or from Eastbourne Tourist Information Centre, Seaford Tourist Information Centre and Eastbourne’s Seafront Office.
