“Pleasant stay one night”

On May 4th in the afternoon I made an online reservation for a Standard Double for one night through VisitEastbourne and the description mentioned scenic view when we arrived I showed the confirmation email to the receptionist and he said that our reservation hasn’t come through and he needs to enter it from scratch which was fine. However, when we went upstairs to our room we found out that it rather was an Economy Double room because it only had town view which was a bit disappointing. The room itself was fine it looked as we expected but the view wasn’t there. We stayed one night, had breakfast in the morning and checked out with the same receptionist who was very friendly. We wanted to stay another night in the area either in Eastbourne or Brighton but hadn’t booked. We stayed at the Seven Sisters Country Park the whole afternoon and only arrived back in Eastbourne in the evening later than expected. We hadn’t booked accommodation and we knew it would be tricky so short notice but we asked at several hotels if they had a room for the night available. They all said that they were fully booked due to the exceptionally sunny weather, the long bank holiday weekend and the Magnificent Motors event. We then returned to The View Hotel to collect our luggage and for food. It was a different receptionist that Saturday night a tall men (Eastern European heritage I believe) and when we collected the luggage we asked him if they would have a room available for the night. We knew that our chances were slim but we wanted to be sure and check. The receptions shook his head and fell into laughter which my sister and I didn’t appreciate very much. This did not happen at any of the hotels we had asked before especially considering that we had stayed at The View Hotel the night before we think it was unprofessional and rude. I live in Oxford and it was the first time that we went to stay at the south east seaside of England. I don’t know how quickly rooms can fill up in this area. We returned to Oxford that night. Apart from that we had a good time in Eastbourne and we would like to visit this area again.
