Summer Fun: Time Warp Wednesdays

About

Time Warp Wednesdays at Michelham Priory House & Gardens
Take a trip back in time this summer with Time Warp Wednesdays at Michelham Priory House & Gardens, a great family day out in Sussex. Best of all, kids go free!

Wednesday 7th August
History Hunters
Become an archaeologist for the day. Dig for hidden treasure, learn how to identify them and record your find. Get hands-on with creative clay fun, see real artefacts and weapons up close, Saxon shield wall training and weaving.

Wednesday 14th August
Tudor Time Travellers
Join us for a delightful journey back to the Tudor era. Create your own miniature knot garden, unlock secrets with codes and cyphers, and write letters on scrolls using quill pens. Craft clay Tudor coins and seals, embroider a Tudor rose, and enjoy Tudor-themed coloring sheets. Dress-up as your favourite Tudor monarch!

Wednesday 21st August
Homefront Heroes
Kids can get stuck into hands-on activities inspired by wartime life. Explore history through an artefact handling table and learn the art of secret communication with codes and cyphers. They will write letters home using dip pens, participate in tank hunting, air raid drills, and weapons drills, and compete in a paper planes and boats competition. Get creative with make-do-and-mend pom poms and colouring.

There will also be free nature-themed activities as part of the Growing Wild For Nature with the Garden Guardians included with general admission.

Wednesday 28th August
Wildlife Wonders
Join us for exciting nature-themed activities where kids can embark on a bug hunt and create beautiful quilled paper flowers. They'll learn the art of Hapa Zome, transferring dye from flowers or leaves onto fabric, and try their hand at botanical monoprinting by printing leaves and flowers onto paper. Kids can also make paper butterflies, sculpt snails or lizards from clay, and enjoy nature-themed colouring.

Booking information
Activities included in general admission to Michelham Priory House & Gardens, with donations encouraged. Up to four kids go free with a paying adult.
