About
Discover stories from the last 5000 year unearthed through The Big Dig project along the downland between East Dean Road and Butts Brow.
We will meet at the start of an ancient path (at the hostel on East Dean Road), explore stories from a stopping place used by Gypsy and Traveller Communities over 100 years ago. We'll then journey along the route used by people for thousands of years and discover the tales of the town that grew around it through the archaeology beneath our feet.
The Neolithic enclosure at Butts Brow will be a point you can end the walk or return with us along a similar route back to East Dean Road
The walk is primarily on open downland with uneven and potentially muddy paths so suitable footwear and clothing is essential.
