Eggcellent Easter Round-Up!

After what has felt like an exceptionally long winter, we’re so happy that spring is on its way! Easter is just around the corner and the little ones are ready for some well-deserved time off school. We’ve put together an Easter round-up which is bursting with egg hunts, creative crafts and themed activities for the whole family! Time to get outdoors in the fresh spring air and enjoy some family time…

Easter isn’t complete without a traditional egg hunt and with so many historic buildings and gardens to wander around, Eastbourne has plenty of choice! The Easter bunny is on the loose in the 200-year-old Redoubt Fortress, youngsters can follow the clues around the casemates and get creative with Easter Crafts and Trail on 31 March - 15 April! Go on the hunt for the Easter eggs at the enchanting Herstmonceux Castle on 1 April and wander the beautiful gardens of Bateman’s for the Cadbury's Egg Hunt between 30 March – 15 April! For an Easter trail with a twist, the Miniature Steam Railway will be hosting their Easter Eggspress on 16 April where families can journey around the country park on a miniature locomotive and get their hands on some eggs!

There’s an exciting adventure waiting to be discovered at Knockhatch as Alice in Circus Adventure runs this Easter from 30 March–15 April. The whole family can meet their favourite characters from Alice in Wonderland with fun-filled activities across the half-term, with storytelling and crafts plus magic and fire shows! For even more magic, head to the Under Ground Theatre for Sam Jones' Magic 4 Kids on 8 April. Little ones aged 3-7 will love the comedy, magic, puppets and bundles of fun games!

Across the Easter holidays, there’s no shortage of feel-good theatre shows to enjoy with the family. One very special white rabbit will be making an appearance at the Royal Hippodrome’s Easter pantomime Alice in Wonderland on 2-3 April. Tiny theatre goers can say hello to Little and Big Nutbrown Hare as the adorable hares from Guess How Much I Love You leap on stage at the Royal Hippodrome on 12 April. Safety goggles at the ready as science’s greatest live show returns to the Royal Hippodrome with even more explosive experiments in Brainiac Live on 15 April! Over at the Devonshire Park Theatre you’ll find the musical comedy Thoroughly Modern Millie starring Coronation Street’s Hayley Tamaddon from 3-7 April.

Meet and Greet Hello Kitty

Meet on-screen heroes as some of children’s most-loved TV characters will be making exclusive visits to Drusillas Park throughout the Easter holidays. Superheroes Owlette and Catboy from PJ Masks will be saving the day on 4 April, followed by the adorable Hello Kitty who will be visiting her beautiful themed house for meet and greets on 5 and 12 April. Youngsters can say hello to the cheeky pair George and Peppa Pig as they adventure through Drusillas Park on 10 April!

The annual free Easter concert returns to Eastbourne Bandstand where locals and visitors come together for a feel-good concert in the open spring air. Performing this year is the Eastbourne Silver Band to kick off the entertainment season!

In between the jam-packed activities, getting outdoors to let off some steam won’t go amiss! Make a visit to the incredible Arlington Bluebell Walk and Farm Trail for a walk amongst a carpet of bluebells, the perfect way to celebrate the arrival of spring. Youngsters will love Wild Woodies Spring Holiday Club at the Seven Sisters Visitor Club where they can learn all about the animals living in the forest, build a den, make their own hot chocolate and make tools out of natural materials.
