Love Mum...Love Eastbourne

1 March 2019

Don’t forget, Sunday 31 March is Mother’s Day and if you are looking to spoil her, here are five ways to give Mum the day she deserves.
Afternoon tea at the Grand Hotel in Eastbourne

Afternoon Tea

Delicate finger sandwiches, scones topped with jam and slices of light, fluffy cakes – you can’t beat the classic afternoon tea!
Eastbourne is home to several stunning venues offering splendid cream teas to celebrate over. Take tea in style in the opulence of the Grand Hall in The Grand Hotel, or take in the stunning sea views with tea at the Hydro Hotel or Lansdowne Hotel.
Alternatively relax in the historic surroundings of Michelham Priory with tea followed by a stroll around the pretty gardens.

Eating and drinking at Sovereign Harbour waterfront

Wine and Dine!

Eastbourne’s wide range of cuisines means that there’s a restaurant for every mum! Choose dinner with a sea vista at the Artisan restaurant at The View Hotel or take in the panorama of the coastline at the restaurant at the Eastbourne Downs Golf Course. Or, if pub grub is more to her taste then enjoy a meal at one of our cosy pubs.
For an international flavour then treat her to tapas at Flamencos or Greek at Gr/eat or Thai at the Thai Marina at Sovereign Harbour.
Follow dinner with cocktails at Eastbourne Cocktail Club or in one of the seafront hotel bars or enjoy a glass of vino at Cru wine bar.

Pamper Her!

A luxury pamper session is just what mum deserves, so why not treat her with a spa day or vouchers to a local salon! Enjoy the health club facilities at the Grand Hotel, the only 5 star seaside hotel in the UK, with an indoor and outdoor pool, fitness suite and spa.

Surprise her with a voucher to salons such as Essential Beauty on South Street or Jasmine’s Spa on Gildredge Road. From incredible nail art to relaxing beauty treatments, she’ll feel her best with a little pamper session!

The Beacon shopping centre in Eastbourne

Retail Therapy

With a whole host of great stores opening in the new extension of The Beacon shopping centre, why not treat Mum to a day or retail therapy! As well as the top high street names inside the centre, there’s also a variety of smaller boutiques and craft shops at the nearby Enterprise Centre.

Break up a day of shopping by heading to Little Chelsea, and spoil Mum with a well-deserved lunch in one of the many independent cafes.

Great Company & Great Views!

Nothing beats good company so something as simple as an invigorating walk is often a perfect way to enjoy a catch up with Mum. Eastbourne is blessed with some amazing coastal scenery and surrounded by stunning countryside.

The South Downs National Park, Cuckmere Haven and iconic Beachy Head are all fabulous places to walk and talk – with cosy pubs nearby to stop for a bite to eat!
