2017 marks the 53rd season for the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team as the Red Arrows perform with a number of brand new moves added to their trademark show!

This year the brand new Red Arrows Pilot, Lt Toby Keeley, will be flying in Red 2! The new recruit has achieved his childhood dream and will be flying over Eastbourne, his home town, many years since watching their displays as a child!

We asked hometown hero Red 2 what his favourite things were about Eastbourne and we can't wait to share them with you!

1. Cycling the Cuckoo Trail!
The Cuckoo Trail is a 14-mile footpath which runs all the way from Hampden Park to Heathfield, while passing through the likes of Polegate and Hailsham, Hellingly and Horam. The picturesque route is perfect for cyclists and walkers alike and a fabulous way to enjoy a summers day!
2. Walking along Cuckmere Haven and Seven Sisters!
With South Downs National Park on Eastbourne's doorstep, you're never far from breathtaking countryside. The iconic chalky cliffs of Seven Sisters have appeared in several blockbuster films including the likes of Harry Potter and James Bond!
3. Lunch at the Sovereign Harbour

Eastbourne's cosmopolitan marina is packed with restaurants to suit every taste, whatever your budget! Offering al fresco dining, the Sovereign Harbour is the perfect spot to sit and watch the world go by.

4. It's close to Brighton & Hove Albion F.C!

5. Airbourne: Eastbourne International Airshow!
Red Arrows at Airbourne: Eastbourne International Airshow

After watching Eastbourne International Airshow in his hometown as a child, it's no wonder that Airbourne is one of Red 2's Eastbourne highlights. As one of the biggest free seafront air shows in the UK, packed with just as much to enjoy on the ground as in the air - it's certainly one not to be missed!
