Award-Winning Bank Holiday Performances in Store at the Bandstand

15 May 2018

Eastbourne Bandstand is bringing a jam-packed weekend of award-winning tribute artists to celebrate the Bank Holiday, from Britain’s King of Pop to the ultimate King of Rock n Roll.

George Michael Tribute

With an extra tribute concert on Sunday 27 May, two times National Tribute Award winner Paul Grant-Reason, stars as George Michael, one of the biggest selling British pop solo acts of all time.

Winner of the National Tribute Awards ‘Best Male Artist’, Paul Grant-Reason will be emulating Britain’s King of Pop from his early Wham days of ‘Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go’ and ‘Careless Whisper’ to some of his biggest solo hits of all time including ‘Faith’, ‘Freedom! ‘90’ and the poignant ‘Praying for Time’.

Paul’s incredible attention to detail, live band and backing singers will be capturing the best of George’s live work, and a back catalogue from which he amassed over 120 million records worldwide.

On Friday 25 May, the multi-award winning Mark Summers performs as ‘The Elvis Legacy’ bringing a string of hits from the King of Rock n Roll, ranging from ‘Hound Dog’ and ‘Jailhouse Rock’ to the up tempo ‘Viva Las Vegas’.

The West End performer and multiple National Tribute Award winning artist, crowned the UK’s Official Number One Elvis Tribute in 2017 has even worked with members of the Presley family and a selection of Elvis’ original band members.

On Saturday 26 May, the UK’s ‘voice of Neil’, singer and guitarist Bob Drury and his band ‘A Diamond Experience’ celebrate more than 50 years of the legendary Neil Diamond.

Tracking the story of the struggling New York singer songwriter through to his worldwide super stardom, the evening includes hits such as number one’s ‘Song Sung Blue’, ‘Cracklin’ Rosie’ and the rousing sing-along favourite ‘Sweet Caroline’.

Bob’s incredible vocal likeness and gravel tones have been astounding audiences for years, with the sound-a-like having toured the UK, Europe and USA, even performing in Las Vegas and also for the US Neil Diamond Fan Club.
