Bandstand to Showcase Rising Local Music Stars

A host of local music artists will be taking to the stage of the Eastbourne Bandstand when it plays host to a series of nights showcasing unsigned musical talent.

Scott DoaneOn 5 and 19 August, the venue holds its first Open Stage Nights where a variety of local acts will be performing providing an evening of free entertainment.

Opening the first of the dates will be Machiko Kimura Lacey who will be playing music including her own songs on the keyboard until the show starts at 8pm.

The line-up then continues with local band; Tessa, followed by performances from Stacey and John, Pretty Kachina, Emerson Cooper, The Melody Makers, Cracks in the Land, The Aultones and Robert May before Tessa return to wrap up the show just after 10pm.

The next show on 19 August will be opened by Misguided Compassion who will also close the show. They’ll be followed by Scott Doane, Ana Carolina, Sam Burns and David Rate.

Eastbourne Borough Council Director of Tourism and Enterprise, Phil Evans said, “The Bandstand has a long standing reputation as a venue for fantastic music entertainment and we hope that audiences will come along to show their support to some of our rising local musical stars. These new additions to the bandstand performance calendar might pave the way for a regular Monday slot for local music and jam nights at what is already the UK’s busiest bandstand.”

The Open Stage Nights are free to watch and no tickets will be required. Doors and the bars will open to the public at 7.30pm (no outside drinks to be brought into the venue).
