Eastbourne’s iconic seafront Bandstand will be topping off a record-breaking year with the UK’s biggest Christmas Day party, all part of a triple bill of free festive concerts.

Christmas Day Concert at Eastbourne BandstandProviding yuletide entertainment for over 4,000 residents and holidaymakers, the festive musical programme will see free concerts on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

Dating back to 1935, the concerts are a long standing tradition attracting thousands each year with mulled wine and music, ranging from traditional carols to festive party hits, and even the return of the New Year’s Day Bandstand conga!

Eastbourne Borough Council Cabinet Member for Tourism & Enterprise, Cllr Margaret Bannister commented “The Bandstand is a highlight in our festive programme for the thousands of people visiting Eastbourne this Christmas, and a long-standing annual tradition for our residents too. Christmas Day sees the return of the Eastbourne Silver Band with traditional carols and classic Christmas songs in a pre-Christmas dinner treat.

The Ray Campbell Dance Band provide a refreshing alternative to the TV repeats on Boxing Day with a lively round up of festive hits and dancing.

On New Year’s Day a third concert sees The Ray Campbell Dance Band return with celebratory hits and a conga around the Bandstand, to welcome in 2019.

Concerts run from 10.30am to 12pm on Christmas Day, and from 11am to 12.30pm on both Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. Entry is free.

Mulled wine, warm mince pies and hot drinks will be available at the Bandstand bar (with discount to membership card holders).
