Tickets for Biggest Bandstand Season Ever Go On Sale

The UK’s busiest bandstand is sure to get even busier next year as tickets for the 2019 season at Eastbourne’s iconic seafront venue go on sale from 1 December.

Eastbourne Bandstand By Visit EastbourneFollowing a record-breaking season this year, the 2019 season will kick off on Saturday 26 April with a performance from the ELO Encounter who make a rocking return to the venue to recreate the evocative sounds of the Electric Light Orchestra.

Next year’s performance season will be the longest the Bandstand has staged, with 144 concerts running right the way through until a glittering Halloween firework finale on Saturday 26th October.

As well as returning crowd pleasers including The Beatles, Jersey Boys and Madness, there’ll be an amazing 17 new acts making their debut at the Bandstand next year. This includes tributes to Human League, Dire Straits, Kate Bush, Coldplay and the Foo Fighters. Plus the Women in Rock night will celebrate a collection of great female anthems.

Eastbourne Borough Council Lead Cabinet Member for Tourism and Enterprise, Cllr Margaret Bannister said “The 2018 season was such a fantastic success and the Bandstand team have pulled out all the stops to ensure that next year will be even better! As well as the return of many favourites including ABBA and Queen, there’ll be lots of new tribute artists gracing the stage from Cliff Richard to Beyonce, so there will be something for all tastes. Tickets for many of the popular performances sell out quickly so make sure you book ahead, plus why not treat your music loving friends and family to some tickets as they make great Christmas presents.”

As well as a packed schedule of Friday and Saturday night tribute shows, Sunday night is also music night with an increased number of shows keeping audiences dancing into a new week!

The 1812 Fireworks and Proms concerts will return each Wednesday from 1 May and the Big Band and Swing Season gets underway from 4 July. Young movers and groovers are sure to enjoy the Kids Party Disco nights when they make a return during the school summer holidays, each Tuesday evening from 23 July.

The Bandstand also offers a prime spot for aviation enthusiasts to watch the fantastic aerial displays of the Eastbourne International Airshow, which will be flying back into town from 15-18 August. The reserved seating for the show offers a great opportunity to watch the action with an uninterrupted view of the flying display line.
