Fab Four Bring Beatlemania to the Bandstand

18 July 2018

It certainly won’t be ‘A Hard Day’s Night’ on Friday 27 July when The Beatles For Sale bring the sounds of the swinging 60s to Eastbourne. Reproducing the magic of the Beatles in their heyday, the group will recreate the legendary music of the Fab 4 at the Bandstand.

Beatlemania at the BandstandThe Beatles need no introduction as with estimated sales of over 800 million physical and digital albums worldwide they are the best-selling band in history. They have had more number-one albums on the British charts and sold more singles in the UK than any other act.

Audiences will be treated to a full repertoire of all the Beatles' most famous songs; from early tracks such as ‘Please Please Me’ and ‘Love Me Do’ through to ‘Rubber Soul’ and ‘Revolver’ classics like ‘Nowhere Man’ and ‘Paperback Writer’ and right up to the likes of the seminal ‘Hey Jude’.

It’ll literally be Madness on Saturday 28 July when Badness takes to the stage in tribute to Suggs and the gang. Their energetic show and front-man will recreate an authentic sound that never fails to whip the audience into shape! With hits including ‘One Step Beyond’, ‘It Must Be Love’, ‘Our House’ and of course ‘Baggy Trousers’, it’s sure to turn the seafront venue into a ‘House of Fun’.

Formed in 1994, Badness is one of the top Madness & Ska/2Tone revival bands in the country. The group have built up a cult following and regularly sell out concert venues right across the UK and in Europe. They are also four times winners at the National Tribute Awards including most recently at the 2018 awards ceremony.

Tickets cost £7.95 in advance (child £5.95) and doors open at 7pm for an 8pm performances. Friends of Eastbourne Bandstand card holders receive 10% off their ticket.

If you enjoy the traditional music from brass, concert and silver bands then the Bandstand is the place to be on Sunday 22 July, for the Traditional Afternoon Concert to be performed by All Saints Concert Band from 3pm. Then from 8pm, audiences will be on ‘Top of the World’ as Solitaire pay tribute to the harmonious voices of The Carpenters.

The sibling duo produced a distinct soft musical style, combining Karen's contralto vocals with Richard's arranging and composition skills. They will be performing many of the group’s famous hits including ‘Close to You’, ‘Goodbye to Love’ and ‘Please Mr Postman’.

Tickets for the Traditional Afternoon cost £3.50 (child £2.00) and for The Carpenters Tribute, £7.95 in advance (child £5.95).

Finally on Tuesday 31 July it’s time for the kids to take over with the return of the Kids Disco Party Nights. Join DJ Oli every Tuesday throughout the school summer holidays from 7.30pm, as the Bandstand becomes an open-air disco filled with the latest pop tunes and family musical favourites.
