Purple Prince of Pop to Reign at Bandstand

6 June 2018

Eastbourne Bandstand will be drenched in the sound of Purple Rain for the first time on Friday 15 June, as the Prince Xperience pay tribute to the eight times Grammy award-winning legend from Minneapolis.

From Raspberry Beret, Kiss and 1999 to first ever number one When Doves Cry, fans can expect a jam-packed musical journey through the 80s and 90s, thanks to an impressive back catalogue which saw the musical legend hit the top 40 spot every year throughout both decades.

With 18 top ten hits in the UK alone, the Prince Xperience will be reminiscing the iconic songwriter’s reign of the pop charts, with stunning costumes, guitar skills and superb sound-a-like voice.

From the Purple Prince of Pop to the Green Green Grass of Home, the Bandstand will be saluting another rock n roll legend on Saturday 16 June, as Tom-Tastic singer Martin Jarvis performs the timeless hits of Sir Tom Jones.

From the chart-topping 60’s hits It’s Not Unusual, What’s New Pussycat and sing-a-long favourite Delilah, to his 00’s dance re-emergence with Sexbomb, fans can look forward to more than 40 years of his biggest hits.

Collaborating with many artists, from The Art of Noise and The Stereophonics to Chicane, Tom Jones re-emergence in the pop charts also included a video for Black Betty, in which he appeared alongside the Tom-Tastic singer himself, Martin Jarvis. Performing all over the world from Vegas to Hong Kong, Martin’s likeness to Sir Tom has also seen him collaborate with producer Chicane.

Tickets cost £7.95 in advance (child £5.95) and doors open at 7pm for an 8pm performance. Friends of Eastbourne Bandstand card holders receive 10% off all tickets.
