Another Round of Seafront Beer Festival Fun as Tickets Go On Sale

24 January 2018

The immensely popular ‘Beer & Cider by the Sea’ is set to make an even bigger comeback as Eastbourne’s only Beer Festival this year, on between 25-27 May. Tickets go on sale on Thursday 25 January and are expected to sell out fast as the only opportunity to taste award-winning local and county beers in Eastbourne this year.

Beer & Cider By the Sea By Graham Huntley

As the Eastbourne Beer Festival in October is taking a year off due to the building and refurbishment works in and around the Winter Garden and Devonshire Park, the May bank holiday Beer & Cider by the Sea will be taking the lead this year as the only chance to enjoy mouth-watering beers expertly-picked by CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale).

The spring bank holiday event is a firm favourite in the events line-up as crowds flock to Eastbourne’s Western Lawns for a weekend of sunshine, live music and refreshing drinks. With plenty of picnic spots on the Western Lawns and entry for children on selected dates, Beer & Cider by the Sea offers family-friendly fun.

Eastbourne Borough Council Lead Cabinet Member for Tourism and Enterprise, Cllr Margaret Bannister said “What better way to shake off the January blues than booking tickets for this feel-good seafront beer festival? Beer and Cider by the Sea is always a popular weekend and as the only beer festival this year, tickets are guaranteed to sell out quicker than ever!”

With tickets on sale for as little as £7, sampling some of the best regional and national beverages won’t break the bank. CAMRA members and students can enjoy discounted ticket prices.

With over 60 fine ales and cask ciders on offer, punters can take their pick from award winners, local favourites or those with a quirky name. For the non-beer drinkers, festival goers can quench their thirst with cider, perries, wine and even fruity cocktails.

The incredible selection of real ales are carefully handpicked by local CAMRA members (Campaign for Real Ale), who will be pulling pints and offering their expert opinion on top tipple.

Beer & Cider by the Sea will be held on Friday 25 May-27 May and ticket prices start at £7 (£6 CAMRA members, £2 children, under 5’s go free).

Tickets go on sale on Thursday 25 January and can be purchased online at www.EastbourneBeerFestival.co.uk or by calling 01323 410611 or from Eastbourne Tourist Information Centre, Seaford Tourist Information Centre and Eastbourne’s Seafront Office.
