Over 900 Classics Roll Up for 15th Year of Magnificent Motors

Magnificent Motors revs back into town from 5 - 6 May, with over 900 classic and vintage cars, buses, motorbikes and more on display over the weekend of the free motoring festival, which celebrates its 15th year.

From stylish Jaguars and old school Austin’s to fancy Ferrari’s, the Western Lawns will offer a dazzling array of mint condition classics at one of the South Coast’s biggest free motoring extravaganzas.

With star cars including a 1930’s Nash Ambassador, fastback Ford Capri 2.8i and Ferrari Spider, gaming fans can also look out for the Crown Victoria LAPD cop car featured in the ‘Need for Speed’ series.

Kicking off with a seafront cavalcade each morning at 10am, hundreds of eye-catching motors will line the seafront from Fort Fun to the Western Lawns, before the exhibiting on the seafront lawns.

Eastbourne Borough Council Lead Cabinet Member for Tourism and Enterprise, Cllr Margaret Bannister said “Magnificent Motors is the perfect way to kick start a jam-packed summer events season and rev up the Bank Holiday weekend.

With plenty of nostalgic fun to be had and the chance to nose under a few car bonnets, the seafront market, live music and retro fairground rides all make this a superb event for all ages.”

With over 30 different car clubs, enthusiasts can look out for Harley’s, Aston Martin’s, Beetles, MG’s, vintage campervans and American classics. A 109 year old Brush Runabout and a 1902 Manley steam carriage prove to be the oldest motors on display, while Easy Company bring an array of wartime military vehicles, and Leyland and Routemaster buses feature from the pre and post war era.

Show sponsor A-Plan Insurance, will be on hand with the chance to win the ultimate kids 12v ride on Ferrari, featuring mp3 connection, lights, pedal and even parent controls.

A top-notch entertainment line-up is on offer on Saturday and Sunday. Playing the perfect blend of old favourites and new hits to create the musical soundtrack for the weekend is returning headliner Zachary Dogwood plus music from local talent Milton Hide, The Orange Sunshine, Chalk Horse Music, Cracks in the Land, Strum ‘n’ Bass, Ben Westwood, Grace and Danger, Elephant Radio, Charmers, Nothing is Real and Jack & Josh.

Fine food and drinks will be available throughout the day, including locally brewed beers from Harvey’s Hop Bar and delicious food from the Seafront Market on the promenade. Vintage bus and fairground rides also provide some nostalgic fun.
