Devonshire Collective

About

Devonshire Collective (DC) is a contemporary arts organisation rooted in Eastbourne's Devonshire Ward, and an Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation. In 2026 DC marks ten years of making art alongside its neighbourhood.

DC runs two former shops in Seaside: VOLT, DC's gallery, at 67 to 69 Seaside Road (BN21 3PL), showing free contemporary art exhibitions and home to Collective Books, DC's bookshop; and DC Learn, DC's learning space, at 1 to 5 Seaside (BN22 7NA), where children, young people and families take part in free artist-led activities all year round. Each year 1,800+ children and young people take part in DC's free artist-led learning, and 3,000+ visitors see free exhibitions at VOLT.

From 10 October 2026 to 20 February 2027 VOLT presents Discover, Celebrate, Grow, DC's heritage exhibition celebrating the hidden histories of the Devonshire neighbourhood, supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund. The gallery closes for winter after Saturday 12 December and reopens at the start of February.

VOLT is open Wednesday to Saturday, 12 noon to 5pm, during exhibitions. Free entry.
