Explore the skies with Eastbourne Astronomical Society this Autumn
Using the society’s telescopes to explore the craters on the moon It is also hoped constellations of the night sky will be observable too including the Pegasus (the winged horse and Andromeda (the Queen).
The largest of the Planets – Jupiter will be available to view and you may see up to four of Jupiters moons. We’ll be looking for the beautiful ringed planet Saturn and we may get a view of Venus as it sets in the west.
Visitors might also get a glimpse of the Andromeda Galaxy, millions of stars over two million miles from earth.
The Beachy Head Story Exhibition and Shop will also be open and a short introductory talk on what might be visible in the night sky will take place throughout the evening.
Stargazing will not go ahead if it rains but we’re hoping for clear skies!
